Sara (Lisbon, Portugal) lives and works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Having concluded an MFA from Newcastle University, and with a BA in Fine Art, Painting from the University of Lisbon, Sara has worked as Teaching Assistant in the Collaboration Strand of the 2nd Stage of BA, Fine Art at Newcastle University, and led Arts and Crafts workshops in Newcastle and Lisbon. She was one of the commissioned artists for the Public Art project Creative Stuff in Public Spaces, organized by Culture Lab in collaboration and funded by Newcastle City Council, with an exhibition of the final work at the On Site venue. Her work has been exhibited twice at the gallery of Casino do Estoril, being awarded with a honors diploma in 2010, and in a solo exhibition at Chiado Editora, Lisbon. More recent projects include the MFA show at Newcastle University, and the participation in the Recall collaboration residency in Venice. Working as a Participatory Artist, she has been developing work with Learning Disabled People at Arcadea. As a member of Noisestra, a turntables project created and directed by Mariam Rezaei, Sara has performed at the Sage, Gateshead and at the Edinburgh Napier University, along with contributing with the creation of graphic scores.
